The National Council on Science and Technology CONACYT (Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología) is a Mexican service that was founded in 1970. The council supports the development of education, science and technology in Mexico.
Their goal is to substantiate the Mexican System of Science and Technology that acts in partnership with the country’s priority demands. This system solves specific problems and needs and aimes to raise the living standard and social welfare in Mexico.
CONACYT wants to develop and modernize science, technology and education in Mexico. Therefore it is necessary to build a high-educational level. Students are able to study in their country or abroad to get well educated. The alumnis will build a construct out of high level human resources, specific research projects and technology information. By taking this under consideration CONACYT will be able to collaborate with different Federal Government agencies and institutions to support the Mexican sector, especially the educational culture (science, technology, etc.) that will benefit from these goals.
Mexico deals with different problems refering to the economic and scientific sector. CONACYT supports the following areas:

- Urban and rural infrastructure and development

To build a high-educated labor, CONACYT cooperates with the Mexican Foundation for Education, Science and Technology FUNED (Fundación Mexicana para la Educación, la Tecnología y la Ciencia).
